Daniel Newton
Founder & Overseer
Daniel was born and raised in a God-fearing family on the border of Maryland and Pennsylvania. He was exposed to the power of the Holy Spirit at a young age and gave his life to Jesus Christ at nine years old. Throughout his childhood, he had the privilege of seeing many revivalists and generals of the faith in different places along the East Coast. As he witnessed distinct moves of God in all the meetings he attended, he quickly desired to see a fresh move in his own life that would affect the world around him.
He went on his first mission trip to Bolivia at 14, a trip that marked his life forever and awakened a passion in his heart for missions. From then on, he went on mission trips every year, traveling worldwide and engaging in everything from smuggling Bibles into Asia to preaching the gospel to large crowds and seeing the sick healed and the oppressed set free, all through the grace of Jesus Christ. These experiences culminated in organizing and leading his first team to Peru at age 22. Daniel has since traveled to over 35 countries as an itinerant minister, preaching the Gospel and establishing the church in her identity in Christ. Among other locations he has visited, Daniel has a heart for South Africa and still leads teams there annually.
Daniel was a youth and young adult leader during his late teens and early 20s. This sparked a passion for discipleship that he carried from then on, investing in the lives of countless young people.
In 2005, Daniel moved to Alabama to attend a one-year ministry school. Following graduation, he moved to Redding, California, to complete Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, graduating in 2009. During this time, with the encouragement of leaders and friends, Daniel began mentoring young men while helping to oversee a local property. God gave him a dream of a discipled housing community where young men and women would create an environment for spiritual growth, maturity, and personal development. Over time, this dream evolved into nine properties, becoming the community now known as Grace Place.
Daniel's passion for Christ, dedication to excellence, and selfless love have brought out the full potential of the young men and women he disciples. Yet, God’s plan for Grace Place was bigger still. From his years of experience and revelations, Daniel has now authored and published 17 books, one workbook, and an online discipleship course, reaching many around the world.
Ten years after meeting on a Teen Mania mission trip, Daniel fell in love with his longtime friend, Liz, and they married in the summer of 2021. Liz is a mighty woman with a heart for intercession, the Word of God, teaching, and family, making her an invaluable part of the Grace Place family. Shortly after Daniel and Liz’s wedding, the Grace Place team began meeting nightly to pray and seek the Lord. During this season, it became clear that it was time to relocate for ministry expansion, and through many confirmations, the future home of Grace Place became evident. In the fall of 2023, Daniel, Liz, and the Grace Place leadership team moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where today, they work to plant a local church, establish a discipleship school, and build a sustainable farm to serve the community.

Jonathan Carter is from Thomasville, North Carolina. He completed the Third Year program at BSSM in 2017 and has been involved with Grace Place since 2014. In 2020, he graduated Simpson University with his bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Jonathan has a passion for the Word of God and spends most of his free time connecting with friends, learning something new, and spending time outdoors. Jonathan is skilled at administrative tasks, project management, and organizational leadership. Along with his administrative abilities, he has a heart for discipleship and helps pastor the team to see those around him step into and walk out the fullness of their identity in Christ.
